wordpress.org, for self-hosted wordpress blogs

wordpress.com, for free hosted wordpress blogs
Some people have an impression that cool people blog using WordPress. Well I’ll be twice as cool then for managing two.
Their mindset probably came from the fact that Wordpress, though free to download, originally requires having your own web host and back in those days, web spaces cost gold! Then when they came up with the hosted version two years ago, it was with an invite-only system. Some people even made money out of it by selling those invites on eBay for as high as $90!
WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. What a mouthful.
WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.
Today , the cost of web spaces have become more affordable. In fact in some cases, it is even cheaper than my cellphone prepaid card purchases. Yet despite that fact, I can still agree with the impression of most people. WordPress users are indeed cool bloggers! Not because they usually own their own www, but because of the contributions of a lot of developers in this open source project that allows us programming-language-dummies to create our own unique web logs.
Would you want to join this cool community? Then head over to the WordPress download page and start your own self-hosted blog in less than ten minutes. Interested bloggers who doesn’t have their own hosting service can still have their own WordPress blog by signing up a FREE account in their hosted service. Though you will not have the liberty to fully tweak the template files, you can still enjoy a lot of features.
If it’s cool, interesting, and useful… you’ll see it on WebSights.
